Valhalla: A Temple of Glory and Memory 🇩🇪✨

Perched near Regensburg, Germany, Valhalla is an awe-inspiring monument dedicated to heroic figures throughout history. Its name, inspired by Norse mythology, refers to the legendary hall of fallen warriors—perfectly aligning with King Ludwig I’s vision of unity and cultural pride after the Napoleonic era.

Commissioned by Ludwig I and completed in 1842, Valhalla originally housed 96 busts and 64 plaques. Today, it honors 195 influential figures, including Albert Einstein, Goethe, and Beethoven.

Fun fact: To be considered for a memorial, individuals must have been deceased for at least 20 years. Why do you think that is? 🤔

If you ever visit Germany, Valhalla is a MUST-SEE! 🔖 Save this for later.
