The bronze doors of St. John Lateran are over 2,000 years old—and they weren’t originally part of the church. Installed in the 17th century, these ancient doors once belonged to the Roman Senate building, the Curia Julia. It’s even possible that Julius Caesar himself walked through them on his way to work.
